Marilyn Smith was born and raised in a small framing community just outside of Allentown Pennsylvania. Before retiring, she raised a family and worked for twenty years as a respiratory therapist. During retirement, she spent winters in Arizona learning the craft of beading in a style known as “Peyote”. This style of beading has it’s origin throughout Native America. In her beading work, she has adapted the technique and applied her own unique designs. She creates bead bracelets, bead necklaces, as well as leather bracelets. Her design patterns are inspired by her Bethany Beach surroundings and her travels. She likes to say “I live in the Bethany Beach area and call the Ocean my home.”
