Christina (Tina) Edgar was born and raised in Devon, PA. Her grandmother owned a summer cottage in Bethany Beach where she was introduced to the ocean and beach at a very tender age. The cottage still exists and was moved and restored to become the Dinker-Irvin Museum. Her fascination with fish began in an art course at Wheaton College in MA. It was a practical art course designed to learn the limitations of the various media: an eggshell mosaic, a sculpture (looked more like a tooth than a fish), a design of a balsa wood house, etc.
In her first Christmas Card, she made a line design of the very early Christian symbol. Many years later, she saw a large, 10’ long, “Game Fish” by Larry Fuentes in the Smithsonian Renwick museum where they were displaying multimedia art. She was intrigued with it and bought a postcard. For the last 20 years she has been rendering her own vision of fish art in multimedia. A few years ago, she was commissioned by the Episcopal Bishop of Delaware, Kevin Brown, to produce a fish (4’ long) for display at the annual convention. It now resides at St Martha’s Church, Bethany Beach. In 2025, an article appeared in Delaware Beach Life magazine, “A Couple, a Cottage and Creativity.” She feels honored to be included in the Artisan Room in Gallery One, Ocean View, DE.
