Light and atmosphere; color, shadows, and reflections; experiencing the sky, the water, or wildlife—these are some of the sights and sounds that I am drawn to while I paint my own interpretations on canvas or paper. Windows and doors of old buildings speak of days gone by, and connect us to those who came before us. Imagine what has been there, and where it is today.
Studying at Moore College of Art in Philadelphia introduced me to the language of art, and the unlimited possibilities for creating; the tools are all there, just make use of them. I vividly recall a day in kindergarten when mixing blue and yellow magically created the most beautiful of greens. That magic is what I still experience every time I have a brush in my hand. What is it? How did I do it? Can you see it? That is the joy of the dance!
