Since a young age I have been stimulated by creating art. Reacting to nature and exploring possibilities has been a natural thread over a lifetime. Painting brings me joy while challenging me.
Formal art education started at the Corcoran School of Art as a teen and continued with a BA in art and education from Webster University with continuing studies at American University., University of Maryland and workshops with other working artists.
For years I have painted in watercolor outdoors on location. Working outdoors has allowed me to sustainingan emotional connection to ideas. Each work starts with writing my thoughts &quick sketchesof abstract composition about an idea that intrigues me. This ritual has allowed me to paint with freedom.
While still working in watercolors I have added other mediums: acrylics and oils. Challenging my comfort level, exploring new possibilities is where I am right now.
My work is found in private and corporate collections: Montgomery County Contemporary Art Collection, Grand Cocumella Hotel, Sorrento, Italy, Landon School, Georgetown University Hospital, Columbia Hospital and Victoria’s Boardwalk Plaza.
