Mary Bode Byrd
After three years working for Hallmark Cards in Kansas City and 30 years managing my own graphic design firm in Washington, DC, I’ve relocated to Bethany Beach to paint—though I’m still a guest artist at a western Maryland artisan village for a month each autumn. The light at the beach is exciting and enhances my love of color in all my works, which are filled with energy, exuberance and whimsy. My style is realistic, with an abstract twist, and it incorporates many media, including acrylics, hand-altered papers, graphite, watercolor and even found objects such as netting.
It is truly exciting to be part of Gallery One because each artist creates their original work through the lens of coastal Delaware.
