The Baltimore Museum of Art & The American Visionary Art Museum

Join Gallery One’s “Double Feature” bus trip to The Baltimore Museum of Art and
The American Visionary Art Museum. We will begin at the Baltimore Museum of Art
and visit the fabulous collection of Impressionist paintings, and the largest
collection of Matisse in the world! These are all in the Claribel and Etta Cone Wing
where you will also find art by Picasso, Cezanne, Degas, Gauguin, Van Gogh and
Renoir. Not to be missed is the collection of 18,000 Nineteenth century French Art
that was donated by George A. Lucas, as well as art from the Americas, Asia and the
Pacific Islands. Another wing houses Modern Art and a large collection of newer
21st century art. (NOTE: Bags larger than 11×15 must go in checkroom.)
Bus will depart the Baltimore Museum at 2:00pm for the second stop.

The second stop will be the fun and unique American Visionary Art Museum which
features self-taught, “Outsider Art” from artists with no formal training. Here you
will find unexpected diverse media along with unique materials created from all
segments of society. This very modern building is, in itself, a work of art and the
gift shop called “Sideshow” is not to be missed for its collection of novelties and
museum memorabilia. ( NOTE: No large bags permitted except for medical
reasons.)

Because there is no food served on-site at the Visionary Museum, we encourage
you to have your lunch at the first stop, where there is a very famous restaurant
called “Gertrude’s Kitchen” specializing in farm-to-table Chesapeake Bay cuisine.
There is also a kiosk beside the restaurant for lighter fare. Within walking distance
is “R House”, an industrial chic food hall, “The Paper Moon Diner”, and “Bird in
Hand Cafe and Bookstore”.

Ocean View departure will be at 6:45am (boarding at 6:30am) from Salt Pond Plaza.
Lewes departure will be at 7:30am (boarding at 7:15) from Home Depot
Bus will leave American Visionary Art Museum at 4:15 for return trip.
