Celebration
July 1, 2026

A new art exhibit titled “Celebration”, opens at Gallery One July 1 and runs through August 4. The show invites the public to experience a collection of works that honor joy, resilience and shared human connection.
Our nation’s 250th birthday is celebrated by Cindy Beyer in her watercolor, “Homecoming for America 250”, which depicts the Gazela in full sail on Old Town, Alexandria. Many tall ships will welcome America’s 250 years, acknowledging the Land of the Free because of the Brave. “Magnolia”, an acrylic painting by Eileen Olson celebrates the Spring here in Delaware, and the anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
Two artists chose to celebrate the beauty of nature. Jill Glassman portrays a summer celebration of red and white geraniums, in her pastel “Garden Glory”. The farmers of Delaware, their hard work and their picturesque fields of gold are appreciated in the acrylic painting, “Amber Waves of Grain”, by Dale Sheldon.
More personal celebrations are portrayed by Ed Lewandowski in his oil painting, “Bridgeville Gazebo”, which is the focus of numerous celebrations, including weddings, the grand march for the high school prom and the community’s Halloween candy giveaway. In her pastel, “Christmas at Longwood Gardens”, Laura Hickman shows the magical evening lights of the Christmas season. A personal retirement celebration is shared by Donna Brumbergs in her oil painting, “Retirement Day 1” which her husband has imagined for many years. Cheryl Wisbrock’s watercolor, “Dance Party”, depicts the loose, fluid postures and attitudes of dancers having a good time, celebrating a special event.
The exhibition aims to spark reflection while offering visitors an uplifting and immersive visual experience. Stop by to pause, connect and rediscover the importance of joy in our lives.
Gallery One is open daily from 10 to 5.
